The summer is a time when I usually devour one book after the next, so I’m happy to say, that today I received a new batch of books from Amazon that I have been particularly looking forward to:
- The Black Swan - the impact of the highly improbable, by Nassim Taleb: A book that explores the impact and causes of highly improbable events (such as the rise of Google, or the attacks on 9/11).
- The Alchemy of Finance, by George Soros: George Soros‘ own take on the financial ecosystem and their behaviour.
- Hedge Hogging, by Barton Biggs: An inside look at the secretive world of Hedge Funds.
- Financial Shenanigans, by Howard Schilit: A book looking at how to detect accounting gimmicks and fraud in financial reports.
- The Red Queen - sex and the evolution of human nature, by Matt Ridley: A look from the perspective of evolutionary biology how there is a method to the madness behind how we instinctively behave in certain ways based on our most basic drives and needs.
..I’ll get back to you on verdicts on the books once I have read them, but I am certainly looking forward to starting..
